A different pepper for every meal

by spiceaholic on March 10, 2010

Okay, so the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion special is on, and I need my mind-junk tv, so this is going to be quick!  😀

Breakfast was my usual breakfast sandwich, made with the new Morningstar spicy breakfast patty.

You can’t see it, but there are red pepper specks in the patty and has some definite zing.   I like it! Pepper # 1.

I had good intentions for lunch. I had plans to meet a friend but work got in the way and we had to cancel, so I had a back-up at work.  It was going to be brown rice, steamed broccoli, and a veggie burger.  But I decided that I wanted something else, so I walked across our parking deck to the building across from us and got a sandwich from the cafe there.

I got a roasted turkey sandwich with spicy mustard, pepperjack, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on rye. Yum!

And these on the side:

I love kettle-cooked chips, the extra-crunch is great! I loved this flavor too, just the right amount of bite. Pepper # 2.

Okay, a little sweet treat after lunch:

The sandwich was so big it kept me full for quite a long time. I finally broke down for a snack at 5:45 since it was going to be a while before dinner. I left around 6:45 and got home almost an hour later. This is what kept me going:

A Vitatop and some PB. I still think they taste funny when they’re heated, but once it cooled down it was better.

I kept dinner simple and relatively quick. I marinated some skinless salmon fillets in some Trader Joe’s Black Pepper sauce while the oven preheated, and then baked them at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Pepper # 3! I liked this sauce, definitely spicy and flavorful.

While the salmon was baking, Mr. Spice and I heated up the last of our Eat Smart Grab n’ Go soup cups. We ended up draining the water off so we’d just have the noodles and veggies with the seasonings.

I gave Mr. Spice my snow peas, since I don’t really like them.

And then a little after-dinner treat:

I decided to try a different flavor this time. It’s not bad, but the chocolate ice cream isn’t chocolatey enough! 😀

Don’t forget about my Kroger $25 gift-card giveaway!

TV time, gotta go!
