Beautiful Blogger, that’s me!!

by spiceaholic on February 17, 2010

Really, I am not that conceited.  I promise.   🙂

I was so excited when I got this award from the lovely Priyanka of The Healthy Diary.   I love reading her blog because she focuses on healthy eating and making healthy Indian food.  Two thumbs up from me!

While I have had plenty of opportunities to find out lots of cool facts about some of my favorite bloggers, now I get to return the favor and share 7 fun things about me.  And then I get to pass the award on to 7 other bloggers.

Let’s get started!  These are not in any particular order.

1.  I have an almost unholy love for nacho cheese tortilla chips. They don’t have to be Doritos brand, I actually prefer the store brands because they are spicier.

2.  I HATE cilantro, especially in its raw form. If it’s been cooked into something I will mildly tolerate it.  Maybe.

3.  I’ve been blogging about cooking and bentos for almost 2.5 years.   Over the years I have changed names and domains but Spice’s Bites feels like home to me now.

4.  I am shy by nature and especially in large groups, but once I’m comfortable around you, watch out!

5.  I had 2 poems published in a local university’s literary magazine in high school. All efforts to write since then have suffered from too grandiose ideas that this will be “the novel” and then I freak out and can’t think of more to write. I have a great collection of ideas and random lines that I’m sure would make a great story but lack the time and inclination to put forth the effort to do something about it.

6.  For some reason people think I’m very innocent and try to shield me from stuff like cussing, drinking, and smoking.  In fact, throughout college  I was the focus of a “corruption” project initiated by my friends.  (Mom, if you’re reading this, this fact never existed!!)

7.  I hate using public restrooms. I would rather hold it for hours than use one and have done so. I’ll use the one at work because they clean it and a limited number of people use it; I will also sometimes use movie and airport ones because they tend to clean those frequently. I hate bathrooms on planes, trains, and buses because they’re tiny and freak me out.  Clearly I have potty issues.

So now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about me, it’s time to pass the torch!

I am so honored! First of all, congrats to you on receiving the award — well-deserved! I loved reading your interesting facts.

I especially relate to you on #5 — I had a poem published once, too! Also, there are several files on my computer that have the “beginnings” of novels but are left undone. I’m hoping that someday soon I can really make it happen. It’s a goal/dream in life to be published!

Thanks again for passing on the award to me — I feel honored to be included with these other amazing bloggers 🙂 I love all of them!

Thanks so much for the award!!!!!! That is really too sweet of you 🙂
Although I won’t be posting again for a while, i’ll try to remember and fill this survey out the next time i do!

And I LOVE the fact that you love SPICY nacho-flavored chips! A girl after my own heart!!

Thank you so much for including me in this group!! 🙂 I agree wholeheartedly w/ #2! I read somewhere that it’s actually hereditary to not like cilantro. My dad hates it and I hate it! I’m also the same as #5 – I have journals of a few chapters of books and countless files saved on my computers. They’re all really awesome ideas and when I go back I can’t believe I thought of a storyline so cool – but then I freak and psyche myself out and can’t finish! Also, #7 which sometimes ppl tease me about, but I don’t care. When I was little I would hold it from the morning until I got home from school – like 7am to 3pm. My last job I worked at for nearly two years and I think I only went to the bathroom 3 times there – I’d save it for lunch break when I got to come home! hehe I have potty issues too and my poor thighs can’t handle “hovering” so I’d prefer to wait until the seat is my own and clean and I can sit!!

Thanks for the award, Spice! Your award is well deserved as well! But, I gotta tell you. I love cilantro. I mean love it. I even juice with it. Seriously.

Yay I loved reading the little details about you. I <3 Cilantro, I actually add some more of it once I have served the Mr.

Public bathrooms freak me out too!

Wow!! Thanks so much for the award, I love cilantro but sometimes it tastes like old spice to me. Umm yuck. Such great fun facts though.

I feel honored to be among such awesome bloggers, thanks. I feel like I should swear or something now to you know un-innocent you or something. %#*!

Haha, glad I’m not the only one with cilantro and public bathroom issues! And the secret desire to be published! 😀

Christie — that’s some hard-core cilantro love, if you’re juicing with it.

Congrats again to all of you!
