Happy Early Birthday to Me!

by spiceaholic on January 7, 2010

I only have a couple days left to describe myself as a twenty-something!  The big 3-0 is coming up Sunday and I’m excited.

I have dinner plans with some friends tomorrow night and then on Saturday a semi-surprise party — meaning I supplied the guest list and some ideas for what to do and my husband and some of my good friends are taking it from there.  Yes, I’m milking this birthday thing!

When I got home tonight, there was a small square box by the front door.  I just assumed it was a box of cigars for Mr. Spice.  Not this time!

Does that look like a box of cigars to you?

My best buds from back home are so sweet!  There is this awesome artisan chocolate place in Wichita called Cocoa Dolce.  Whenever I’m home for a visit we all try to meet up there for some truffles, gelato, or hot chocolate.  Or all 3 at once, as was the case this Thanksgiving.  Don’t judge. If you were faced with dark chocolate orange gelato, Mexican hot chocolate and all sorts of truffles, I dare you to pick just one.

Just look at that!  Some of them are so pretty it’ll be hard to eat them.  The insert said to enjoy these by February 3rd.  Trust me, they will be long gone by then.

Fun and totally random fact:  the initials of my 3 buds spell out “ART.”  My first initial is a “F”, so put it all together and you get “FART!”   😀

Thanks, guys!

Happy Birthday! Your food photos are amazing. They make mine look like my 4 year old took them.

Are you Indian too?

mmmm, yum yum, those chocolates looks really decadent and pretty. I wonder how a mexican hot chocolate truffles tastes like?

That is so funny, My initials are A.S ( I don’t have a middle name) so if I ever feel like getting one, my initials could be ASS haha. But FART is too funny.

Thanks for the comment 🙂 look forward to your posts!

Ameena — thanks! I found as I took more pics, I learned as I went along. Other than lighting, my 2 big things are to use the macro setting and to not use the flash. I’m not Indian, but my parents are from Bangladesh, so same part of the world. 🙂

Amanda — I agree, you can never go wrong with truffles!

Angela – I bet it would taste good! I’m so glad you stopped by!
