I hope everyone has had a great Valentine’s Day!
We kept it low-key this year like we do every year. We don’t usually do gifts and we put a stop to the flowers a while back since it’s such a rip-off. Once upon a time when we were dating and newly-wed it was more of a production, but our laziness won out eventually. 🙂
This year I thought it’d be fun to do gifts, but keep it to $10 or under. I got Mr. Spice a lolcat-themed card and a book called “Meerkat Wisdom,” since he used to love watching Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet. He got me a cute little stuffed dog that says “Kiss Me” and a cute card embellished with his attempt at a self-portrait.
We opted to cook dinner together and it turned out so well! We made steaks with a mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes (we cheated and used a mix since we had one in the pantry), steamed broccoli, and homemade chocolate-covered strawberries.
I’ll let the the pictures speak for themselves.
This all tasted as good as it looked, trust me! 🙂
Good night, everyone!

Oh man the pics look delicious! I wasn’t feeling the appetite today so I had a bowl of cereal for dinner, but now I wish I’d thought ahead like you guys. Esp. w/ those chocolate covered strawberries —- mmm my favorites!
