If you’ve been reading Spice’s Bites for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of convenience. Mr. Spice and I are both busy people with demanding jobs, so I try to make things as easy as I can for us.
I tend to buy a mix of frozen and fresh veggies, depending on what I’m in the mood for and what I’m planning to eat that week. I love the convenience of frozen veggies — I use them to bulk up a frozen meal quite a bit and I don’t have to worry about them going bad. I’ve been using them quite a bit these past few weeks as work has gotten busier with our spring tax deadlines.
So you can imagine what good timing it was when I saw the opportunity to try out Green Giant’s frozen boxed vegetables through my membership with MyBlogSpark. Green Giant has plenty of frozen veggies to choose from, some plain and some with sauces or other flavorings.
The prize pack I received from MyBlogSpark and Green Giant contained a frozen sample of Green Giant frozen vegetables (I got broccoli with cheese sauce), an insulated tote bag, a serving bowl, a spoon, and a pedometer! All very cutely color-coordinated too, might I add!
I’m loving the serving bowl and spoon, can’t have too many of those! The insulated bag is great for taking home frozen items from the grocery store. And now that the weather is getting nicer, I will be putting that pedometer to good use.
The broccoli and cheese sauce couldn’t be easier to prepare — just put it on a plate, cut a slit, and microwave for 4-7 minutes. I added some seasonings and hot sauce and my side dish for dinner was complete!

I like the corn with butter sauce.
To make my week easier I clean on the weekends so I don’t have to worry about it when I get home from work.
I like their Broc & Cheese Sauce…would like to try the Shoepeg White Corn & Butter Sauce as I have never had shoepeg corn before. 🙂
My main strategy to make things easier is to do as much as possible prep wise ahead of time whether it be for cooking or clothes etc. Also clean up as you go before things get out of hand. 🙂
I love the Shoepeg White Corn in Butter Sauce…Yum!
Since I work in a kitchen all day, I like to prepare extra portions at home when I cook and freeze them….
Last Nights Make Ahead? Twice Baked Potatoes, 10 Reg. 10 Cheddar….5 eaten and 15 frozen!!!!!

Hi, I’d choose the steamed sugar peas.
I make things easy during a busy week by dividing up my lunch portions of various foods several days in advance, so most of my lunch is ready to go each day.

I love the broccoli, cauliflower and carrot mix with cheese sauce!
I do dinner prep for the week on Sundays so all I have to do is some minimal cooking or just placing items in the crock pot or oven on week nights …
