This here is a fancy-like PBJ sandwich!
As part of our pantry-freezer chuck it or eat it thing, Mr. Spice and I have been very good this week about eating what we have at home. Well, last night we were sick of eating leftovers decided to treat ourselves and ordered a pizza. But all in all we’ve done well.
It made me a little upset to see how much old or expired food we had sitting around that we’ve been throwing out. It’s such a waste of both food and money. But a good wake-up call.
Anyway, so I discovered this jar of Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams that had been hiding behind some cereal. It did say eat by June 2009 but it hadn’t been opened yet, so I’m going to chance it and eat it.
I’m waiting to hear back from some friends about a shopping expedition today — we’re going shopping for Indian clothes! We’re supposed to meet for lunch but I’m hungry for breakfast NOW. So I thought I’d get started on the dark chocolate pb.
Behold, my fancy pants PB&J:
Yum yum!
I took a slice of oatmeal bread and put the dark chocolate pb on one half and some seedless raspberry jelly on the other. That is a big piece of bread by the way. I usually buy the reduced-calorie bread for myself but thought it’d be fun to try “real” bread for once.
This is really good. I think it would be even better if I toasted the bread next time. But that involves me unpacking the toaster oven I bought months back and have been too lazy to unpack.
All right, I’m off to savor the last bite of this and hopefully find some nice stuff while shopping!
