Pumpkin Chai Spice Coffee + Godiva Coffee Coupon!

Fall.  Pumpkins.

It’s hard to not think of one and not think of the other, right?  Leaves changing color, jack-o-lanterns, breaking out the sweaters, pumpkin pie, etc.  That’s why I was so excited when I was selected to receive samples of Godiva Coffee’s two new fall flavors as part of the FoodBuzz Tastemaker Program: Caramel Pecan Bark and Pumpkin Spice!

I’m a very casual coffee drinker usually, but this latest round of tax season had me reaching for coffee in the mornings quite a bit, and I’m starting to enjoy it more and more.  Of course, having new flavors to try makes it even more fun!

I’ve associated Godiva with chocolate for the longest time, so I sampled the Caramel Pecan Bark coffee first and swooned as the heady aromas of chocolate and caramel wafted out of the bag of coffee.  I could have stood there sniffing the bag the whole day.  I was not disappointed with the taste.  It’s so good on its own, with a bit of sweetener and creamer to round everything out.  I’m dreaming up some icy dessert-type ideas with this flavor, so you may see some of those in the future!

When I opened the bag of Pumpkin Spice coffee,  it was the perfect marriage of coffee plus pumpkin pie, neither competing with nor overwhelming the other.  You can distinctly make out the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.  I can easily imagine myself curled up with a cup of this coffee on a brisk fall morning.  As with the Caramel Pecan Bark coffee, I have lots of dessert-themed ideas floating around that I plan to experiment with.  But the flavor profile of the Pumpkin Spice coffee made me think of something else: chai.  Indeed, many of the spices that we associate with pumpkin pie are also contained in the famous spiced tea from the Indian subcontinent.  You know me, I always have to put that spin on things! 🙂

This is so simple, it’s almost embarrassing to post.  But I loved how it tastes, so I’m sharing it anyway.

Spicy,

One of my favorite things is to brew a flavor and then use that to make my oatmeal with (instead of plain water) I’m telling you it’s AWESOME – you should try it.
