It’s getting there. My eating is slowly getting back under control. Slow and steady progress, I need to remember it’s not a race.
I weighed in today and had a .2 lb loss. Last week I stayed the same. It’s still progress! I have to remember that with my body it takes like 2 weeks for whatever I’ve been doing to be reflected on the scale. So hopefully in another 2 weeks the scale will keep going down.
On to the eats:
Breakfast is the usual . . .
I decided to hit up the 12:30 meeting, and I didn’t eat anything after breakfast or drink anything after about 11 am, so I was STARVING afterwards. I’m so glad I planned ahead for lunch today. More of the slow-cooker veggie soup, and a Morningstar spicy black bean burger on a sandwich thin. This felt like a rockstar WW lunch!
Lunch was a good choice, because it kept me full for a longer time. But when I did get hungry, I grabbed one of these because I wanted something chocolatey and quick:
I somehow managed to not snack on anything else, even though I stayed a bit late at the office. I also actually had a plan for dinner, which involved cooking! We had some shrimp and chicken andouille sausages that needed to be used up, so I had planned on making jambalaya sometime this week. Well tonight was the night:
This turned out really well. Here’s what I put in it:
chopped celery, bell pepper, and onion
canned diced tomatoes
LOTS of spices — thyme, some Italian seasoning, blackened seafood seasoning, New Orleans style something seasoning, hot sauce.
chopped up chicken andouille sausage
brown rice (shhh, don’t tell Mr. Spice!)
Not sure that’s an authentic recipe, but that’s the best I could do at 7:45 pm when I had tv coming up at 8. 🙂
Oh and I had seconds at dinner.
But let’s move on to dessert. Kroger had pints of certain brands of ice cream on sale 10 for $10 this week. I got some Mayfielf vanilla for Mr. Spice and picked up this Active Lifestyle berry granola frozen yogurt for myself. Decided to sprinkle some blueberries on it and give it a try tonight.
Not bad at all. I usually only go for chocolate-flavored frozen desserts, but I didn’t even miss it here. It was just sweet enough to satisfy the dessert monster and healthy enough that I didn’t feel like I was blowing it.
I know I’ve asked this before, but any suggestions on how to better title my food journal posts? The “Spice’s Bites — date” format is perfunctory but nothing to go crazy about. I can try to think of cute titles, but no guarantees. Any ideas are welcome!
