Spice’s Bites — 1/3/10

by spiceaholic on January 3, 2010

If anybody can think of a better way to name my daily eats post without me having to think of a unique title every day, please let me know!  🙂

No food hangover this morning, thank goodness!  It was FREEZING today (for Atlanta) and cold cereal didn’t sound tempting at all, and I wanted something savory for breakfast.  So I decided on my tried-and-true breakfast sandwich:

Don’t tell me that doesn’t look good. I won’t believe you. I’ve talked about it before, but this is one of my favorite breakfasts and is so easy to do. It’s just either a turkey or vegetarian breakfast sausage patty, Kraft 2% pepperjack, and Taco Bell hot sauce on light bread/light bun/english muffin. I used one of the leftover slider buns today, so spent a bit more on the bread than I usually do.

Then of course there was lunch:

I’m sure you’re as sick of seeing my leftovers as I am of eating them, but oh well. I added half a chicken andouille sausage to liven things up a bit.

We had plans to see Avatar in 3D and IMAX with our friend, and I didn’t want to fall prey to the movie concessions, so I made my own snacks:

I popped a bag of light popcorn for us to share and made my own trail mix with Fiber One, Cocoa Puffs, and cherry Craisins. I bought a drink there. By the way, if you haven’t seen Avatar yet, GO. And see it in 3D and IMAX if you can.

After the movie, which is almost 3 hours, we were getting hungry for dinner. There was a Buffalo Wild Wings in the area, which Mr. Spice and I love and are deprived of, so that was an easy decision. And here is where I was a horrible food blogger: I forgot to take a picture of my food. I know. And to add to the shame, I committed the blasphemous offense of not getting any wings. I got their Naked Tenders instead, and got a side salad. I got my favorite sauce for dipping though — spicy garlic. And we all split an order of potato wedges. So I was able to get the tastes of what I liked but won’t wake up feeling bloated from the wings.

Now before you go thinking that I have turned over a weight watching leaf, I’m not quite there yet. After we got home I decided I wanted some dessert. And it had to be cheesecake.

So worth it. I decided to top a plain slice with some lemon curd. Yum.

And that is all for today.

The cheesecake looks divine with the lemon curd on the top. Yum!! Glad to hear that you enjoyed Avatar. I’m thinking of seeing it next weekend.

Hi Sweetie Pie!

Definitely go see Avatar if you can. It’s long, but such a visually stunning film!
