I won’t rag on the ugly pictures I’m about to post if you won’t. Sound good?
The only thing I will say is that it’s hard for me to get decent pics when I’m posting daily eats. Something about it feels so rushed or furtive, if I’m at work.
That’s it, no more complaining!
So today was my official first day as a full-time employee instead of being a contractor! I got up extra early for me so that I would have time to do my hair all nice and cute instead of my usual damp wash and go routine. But because I decided to wait until the last minute to fill out my paperwork, I still ended up leaving around the usual time I do in the mornings – late o’clock.
Now I unofficially negotiated for a change in seating when we were going through the whole job approval process. Where I sat before was fine, but the other senior consultant sits in a quieter area with HUGE windows, so I asked if I could move my seat there. I got the okay last week so I spent this morning moving my stuff from one cube to another. The one I really wanted turned out to not be a good spot since there was a huge support beam or something that took out 1 cabinet and section of the desk. If you’ve ever seen me in the middle of tax season with files everywhere, you know I need my storage and space. So I got the cube in front of it and I can still turn around and enjoy the window view. Yay!
Here are today’s eats:
My usual breakfast sandwich, missing one bite. Thankfully I remembered to snap a pic before I devoured the whole thing.
No lunch pic today. I had packed some veggie soup to go along with whatever I had in the freezer at work, but ended up going out for a welcome lunch for the new contractor. We went to Maggiano’s and got to enjoy a couple minutes of walking in the nice weather. I got the Chicken Pesto Linguine and a side salad. I didn’t take a pic because it wasn’t the right crowd. Trust me, it was very good, and I ate less than half of what I ordered. Of course, I forgot the leftovers at work.
The good thing about a heavy lunch is that I don’t get hungry for a few hours after that. I ended up having a Fage 2% with strawberry around 4:30. No pic. I snapped a blurry one on my phone because I thought someone was watching. 🙂
Since I didn’t have my soup at lunch today, I decided I would have some before dinner to see if it helped me eat less.
I added a little shredded Parmesan cheese for some flavor and flair.
I got so caught up with catching up on blogs and stuff that I almost forgot to eat dinner. Fear not, I had plenty of leftovers to choose from.
This is the ugly picture culprit. I assure you it tasted infinitely better than it looks. Curries always taste better after a few days — all the spices and flavors get to meld and infuse the meat or veggies. But to answer your question, yes, having the soup was a good move.
I also have a couple more of the birthday truffles for dessert. Don’t ask how I’ve managed to not eat them until just now. Okay fine, the reason was I wanted to wait until I had some semblance of self control so I wouldn’t go tearing into the whole box and not enjoy them properly.
Today’s selections are the key lime one in the front, and the amaretto one in the back. Can’t wait to savor these.
