So far, I’m liking 2010!
I went to weigh-in this morning since I wasn’t sure how nasty the weather’s going to be the rest of the week — I’m down 1.4 lb. from last week! It might be a fluke and last week might catch up with me next week, but it still felt good to see a loss.
Remember the work-related news I was hinting at yesterday? I’ve been doing contract work at this company since August, and today I got an official offer! They got the ball rolling last month, but since we’re owned by a bank, lots of protocol and red-tape held things up. I’m so excited and relieved!
On to my eats!
I was REALLY running late this morning, and even more so since I was trying to weigh-in before work. So I had to make do with whatever I had hiding in my food drawer. Luckily I had the fixings for Peanut Butter Cup Oatmeal!
All you need is some peanut butter, oatmeal, and hot cocoa mix! Just combine the oatmeal and hot cocoa, then stir in a spoonful of pb at the end.
The picture doesn’t do it justice, but this tastes so good. It tastes exactly like those no-bake cookies. Mmmm.
Today I had a lunch date with my friend Kelly. I promised her I would help her get started with knitting — I taught myself from books, but am far from an expert. So we met up for food first, then yarn and needles afterwards. We went to Tin Drum, which is a chain here that serves pan-Asian food. I like Tin Drum, but not this location.
I got basil fried rice, subbing brown rice (for which they charged an extra $1.50!), and asking for it extra spicy.
Ummm, guys? What part of basil fried rice didn’t you get? And extra-spicy doesn’t mean not spicy. Luckily they had sriracha to add some heat.
Kelly got some green curry. It was just okay, according to her. I’m not fond of Thai curries, so nothing from me.
When I weighed in this morning, they had samples of one of their new 2-point bars out, so I saved mine for an afternoon snack.
It was okay. It had a sweet and salty taste that I liked, but for 2 points I could have had a 100-calorie pack of almonds. Or something more filling. I probably wouldn’t buy it, but then I don’t buy a lot of the food products at the meeting locations.
Since tomorrow’s trash day, that means I can finally get rid of the leftovers from last week and reclaim my fridge! So I stopped at the store for some groceries and decided to pick up a rotisserie chicken since I was starving and didn’t feel like cooking.
I had 1 chicken leg with some salad and a few crumbled Tuscan herb-flavored pita chips for crunch. Look at me sneaking in these salads! 🙂
And for dessert one last slice of the cheesecake. But I was too lazy for a picture.
