Vegging out

I’m making this quick since LOST comes on soon and I need to devote all my attention and brain cells towards watching it.

Remember how full of junk yesterday’s eats were?  Well, today was a marked improvement.  Lots of veggies!  And I even exercised, yay!

Now, when it comes to breakfast, I will gladly eat non-breakfast foods.  I tend to prefer more savory food anyway, so it works for me.  This morning on the way to work, I had envisioned a breakfast of yogurt, berries, and Fiber One.  However, that soon changed to wanting eggs, breakfast sausage, and bacon.  Once I set foot in the office, I talked myself into something a bit healthier, if unorthodox.


I had an extra sandwich thin at work and have a stash of frozen black bean burgers and veggie burgers. I decided the black bean burger sounded really good, so there you go.

Today we had a tax research webinar scheduled at lunch, so they ordered in pizza for us. I knew this and planned ahead, packing some veggies to munch on alongside the pizza.


I took 2 slices of pizza, one cheesy breadstick and snacked on veggies. I ate some veggies first and ate one slice and would have been fine stopping there, but I already had the 2nd piece and the breadstick and so I ate those too.


After such a heavy lunch, I didn’t get hungry until about 5:30. I wanted something light though, since I was going to be leaving within an hour to go home. Yesterday when I had cereal for breakfast, I ended up bringing it and the almond milk with me to keep at work. So I made myself a snack of Fiber One, blueberries, unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, and some Splenda.


Oh and there was a lollipop between lunch and the cereal. The building management dropped off some Valentine’s treats for our office. Luckily for me it’s mostly hard candy and very little chocolate. Also luckily for me, the candy is by the receptionist, so it’s not in front of me.


For dinner, I needed something quick. I heated up some Morningstar Buffalo “Wings” and then tried out one of the new Eat Smart Simple Soups that was sent for me to sample. More on the soup in a separate post!



All in all, not that bad a day!  Of course the night’s not over — I’m planning on having some frozen yogurt while I watch LOST.   Fellow LOST addicts — I’ll check in with you tomorrow! 🙂

Can you guys see the new header now?  It’s the same image as before, but with glammed up lettering.    Thanks again to Mara for putting it together and putting up with my indecisiveness!

I really like your new header! Are those beignets in the center picture? They look amazing, as does your shrimp.

I really love your site design altogether. Great job!

Thanks, Ameena! Not beignets, although now that you mention it they do look like them – these were strawberry samosas I made last year for a BSI contest. 🙂
