Sneak Peek at Alexia Foods’ Parmesan Lemon Waffle Fries and a Tyler Florence Cookbook Giveaway!

We are only DAYS away from the end of the Alexia Foods “Reinvent a Classic” Fry Challenge! It’s been such a long journey, from my fry recipe testing last summer, finding out I was a finalist in the challenge, getting to meet Tyler Florence, the announcement of the 4 finalists last fall, and the voting campaign since then, but it’s coming to an end! Thank you SO much for all the support and fry pimping over the past few months, you have no idea what it means to me!

I have 2 exciting things to share with you today.

First up is a sneak peek at Alexia Foods‘ new Parmesan Lemon Waffle Fries, winner of last year’s “Reinvent a Classic” challenge, finally making its debut in stores.

I’ve been so excited to try these since they were announced. When the folks at Alexia offered to send me some to sample, I said yes immediately. I never say no to free fries!*

The combination of lemon and Parmesan is one I do enjoy — it’s tangy, zesty, and fresh. My Lemony Spinach Couscous with Parmesan is a great example of how the flavors go together, so I was interested to see how they would work on fries.

Well, they work! I do recommend waiting a bit after you take them out of the oven before eating them, that way you can really taste the flavors. But the lemon and Parmesan are definitely there. We’ve already demolished one package of these — these are fair game as a snack or along with dinner. Trust me, I don’t need an excuse to eat fries.

As I tried these fries, I couldn’t help imagining my Bruschetta Waffle Fries in their place next year! Really, thanks to all of you, it’s looking more and more like it’s going to happen!
